Guillermo Del Toro for The Hobbit
The Hobbit is finally confirmed to be filmed. Although this time Peter Jackson( the genius behind the Lord of the Rings Trilogy) won't be manning the direction for this film adaptation.
Instead Guillermo del Toro ( Hellboy and Pan's Labyrinth) will direct the prequel for the Lord of the Rings saga.
They are going to make it into a two movie, which I think is not a good idea. The Hobbit is just too short and I dont think you need to prolong it.Maybe the producers are thinking about more of their profits for this highly anticipated film.
Although he is a great visual director, expect that the visuals of the Hobbit changes from that of The Lord of the Rings. When a film series changes a director, the series transform into a new world is far from different from the one that we are used to. Example of this, the one that happens to Harry Potter, the first two were magical. But when Chris Columbus begged off for th third, the magic was gone.
Another one is the Batman series, Tim Burton's world is very different from Joel Schumacher that's why the last two suffered badly. Good thing they revived it with Christopher Nolan, who also directs the sequel The Dark Knight.
Thanks to Steven Spielberg, he still handles the latest Indiana Jones that is why it is one of the highly anticipated movie this summer.
Let's just wait what will happen to the Hobbit. Hope it would be a good one.
