It would be Great if the Lakers face the Celtics in the Finals

The L.A. Lakers just trounced the defending champions San Antonio Spurs to advance to the Finals. Lakers won the series 4-1.

The Last time that the Lakers advanced to the Finals was in 2004. Led by All Stars Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Bryant, Karl Malone and Gary Payton. Karl Malone transferred to the Lakers that season hoping to bag a championship before he retires. But destiny would not permit it, the Lakers lost to the Pistons in the Finals, putting an end to the career of Karl Malone with no Championship won.

Luckily for Gary Payton, he was signed up by the Miami Heat in 2005-2006 season and got a Championship with Shaq, Wade and the rest of the Heat.

Now Kobe Bryant has a shot of getting the Championship ring without Shaquille O’Neal around.

This time around help will come with Spaniard Pau Gasol. Ever since the trade of Gasol to the Lakers, Lakers are on a roll. Gasol easily blended with his new team. Pau Gasol easily adapted to the triangle offense instilled by Phil Jackson.

Boston or Detroit ? That’s the question that’s been buzzing now. Boston has 3-2 lead over the Pistons, but they are not yet out.

It would be great if the Celtics reach the Finals. It would be renewing fabled rivalry. But if the Pistons make it, I am pretty sure that they want to repeat what happened four years ago. While Revenge will be on the mind of the Lakers.

The Spurs are in Big Danger

Defending champion San Antonio Spurs is once again in danger of being eliminated in the playoffs. They just lost to the Lakers 93-91 in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals right at their homecourt.

Maybe they just don't have the drive to defend their crown. Since winning every other year have always been the habit of the Spurs since 2003.Their lineup is aging now, they must pull their act together to come from 1-3 deficit to advance to the NBA Finals.

If the Spurs lose this series against the Lakers, they will be tagged as the only dynasty team that failed to win back to back crown. Or perhaps you cannot call them a dynasty because they didn't dominate a straight year instead they are winning the Championship every other year.

Another loss and its goodbye for the Spurs. Its time to wake up.

Are the Celtics for real ?

Ok, the Celtics may have lost in their homecourt for the first time in the playoffs, but looked at them bounce back.

Crushing the Detroit Pistons and winning their first road game in the post season. It's a tall order for the Celtics and I thought that they would succumb to the pressure and lost. But no, they managed to hold on and won their very first on the road.

Kevin Garnett led the Celtics with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Now that's what I am talking about, Big Time player should step up now because its playoff time, if you blink you're in danger of being eliminated.

Let's wait tonight if the Celtics can steal another one from Detroit tonight. Or the Pistons equalize the series in the Eastern Finals.

Go see Indiana Jones 4

It has been nineteen years since we last the wisecracking and daredevil archaeologist Indiana Jones in the big screen. I was still in first year high school when The Last Crusade was shown.

Now that I have a family of my own, It's time to introduce my kid to my Idol. Yesterday, I brought along my family to watch it and my son was excited to see Indiana Jones on the big screen for the first time. Harrison Ford may have grown old , but still got that killer moves that makes him an Icon. He is my favorite actor since watching him in the Temple of Doom.

All the Indiana Jones elements are still in this film. Action, Adventure,Comedy. Name it,you got it. Steven Spielberg still directs it amazingly.


The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull starts off with Indiana Jones being held by the Russians who managed to sneak into the warehouse of the Top Secret Facility of the U.S. Government. The Lost Ark of the Covenant have a brief cameo appearance here, so keep your eyes very closed.

From then on it was a roller coaster ride, Tug of war for the Crystal Skull as to who can bring it back to where it rightfully belongs. It's a fast paced film so don't blink at all, you don't wanna miss highlights after highlights.

There are three things that I noticed here unlike in the three previous film.

First is the Location. I don't know if George Lucas and Co. are on a budget. Only two countries are shown here,US and Peru unlike the first three its an around the world adventure.

Second, too much CGI especially the cliff scene and the Aztec Pyramid. It was too obvious that it was CGI. You cannot see the natural light of the Sun. I guess no one can replace it. The first three was full of beautiful scenery like Egypt,Italy, India and Hong Kong.In the three previous films,you can see the natural beauty of the SUN.

And last, Indiana Jones used to looked for religious artifacts, but now Aliens. Aliens have been touted here as the Gods of the Aztec civilization. This maybe its weakest point,making it the less realistic among the series. Unless of course you believe in Aliens.
Its like Indiana Jones crossing over the Star Wars world.

But nevertheless, nineteen years is worth for the wait. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is an enjoyable movie from start to finish. Bring your kids along to see it in the Big Screen.

America got it Right

This time America got in right in who's the real winner in American Idol. David Cook won the title over David Archuleta by a margin of 12 Million votes.

It was a sweet victory for David Cook. David Archuleta has all the praises of the judges but America has decided who the real deal is. David Cook is the man.

We've followed his journey ( see all my previous post)through the Idol and I knew it from the start that he would win the title. Why ? Because David Cook is original, a music genius. He makes an old song a hot single today.

Simon Cowell was just right to apologize to David Cook for his cruel remarks he made last night. He must have been ashamed that he lambasted the new American Idol. David Archuleta's fans are just loud unlike David Cook who are silent yet serious.

Told you, David Cook will win.

David Cook ROCKS !!!!!!!

So Simon may don't like his performance last night, but I predict that David Cook will win tonight.

It's about time that a Rocker wins American Idol. From Bo Bice to Chris Daughtry, they've been denied and I think its high time that David Cook wins the title.

We all saw his performances and he has shown that he realy got talents. And we saw different sides of him. He was a brave,fresh,daring and brilliant performer. David Archuleta may have a good voice, but it gets tiring to hear and boring. I am bored during his second set and utterly surprised why he sung Imagine once again. He just stayed on his comfort level, afraid to take risk.

I think that David Cook's song Dream Big is the winner for the songwriter's choice. In this Moment by David Archuleta is more self centered and selfish at all, not that inspiring at all. Maybe his dad picks it up for him. Unlike Dream Big, it has an edge,catchy tunes and great melody. You would even think that it was already performed by someone else.

David Cook kicks off the show with the song of U2 I Still Haven't Found What I Was Looking For. David Archuleta countered with an Elton John song Don't Let the Sun Goes Down on Me. This round according to Simon was won by Archuleta.

The most boring part of the show was when David Archuleta sung Imagine. We saw that before why don't he just sang a new one. Now that could spell trouble for him.

If David Cook wont win this one, I believe that he would sell more records than David Archuleta. He might even give Chris Daughtry a run for his money. David Cook will surely be a bankable recording star.

Battle of the Two Davids

Tonight's the big night for the two DAVID in the American Idol. David Cook and David Archuleta. The two singers are very different from each other.

David Cook is a rocker, and is very good with some of his arrangements in the songs he have chosen most particularly Always Be My Baby and Hello. He also have this strong personality and sure is a ladies man. So I guess girls aged between 20 - 40 years old will vote for him. David Cook has proven his versatility, you thought that he could only sing rock song, but think again look at how he performs during The Andrew Lloyd Webber week with his rendition of Music of the Night. I daresay that it was even better than the original.

David Archuleta is a balladeer, who is just like previous Idol winners, a balladeer. David fanbase are teenage girls who seems to have strong voting power. David Archuleta can sing almost every song except one, Rock song. He did show his weakness during the Rock and Roll week, instead of performing a Rock and Roll song he sang Leave Me Tender which is obviously a ballad song. Plus during the Top 12 first night, when he was singing We Can Work It Out, he forgot some lyrics of the song during the the first minute.

But if I were to choose who among the two Davids, I prefer Cook to be the next American Idol.

Why ? Because David Cook's studio version of his songs is almost like a hot record, if you've listened to it you know what I meant. David Cook can sell record now and become a certified hitmaker.

Expect him to be a big star. My choice for American Idol.
