My Top Five Movies of 2008

5. ) Quantum of Solace- Daniel Craig's second outing as James Bond continues where Casino Royale left off. It's nice to see Bond once again in a high octane non stop Action. Although James Bond doesn't have any gadget here, still the movie delivers and it didn't failed to impress moviegoers and my self..

4.) Kung Fu Panda- Basically this movie is my kid's choice for this year. Po and Company gave a hilarious performance. Could give Shrek a run for his money.

3.) Iron Man – Summer's first blockbuster hit and the movie that revitalizes Robert Downey's career. This comic book hero turn to movie can be lined up alongside Batman and Spiderman, great cast and script, nice effects, pace and action.

2.) The Dark Knight - Batman does it again, almost becoming the highest grossing movie of all time. The Dark Knight broke almost every box office records everywhere. Also Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker somehow got others curious to watch this movie. But it's definitely one of the Best Batman movie. I can also consider it as one of the best sequel, better than Batman Begins.

1.) Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull- I admit that I am BIG Indiana Jones, seeing the daredevil archaeologist in the big screen after nineteen years was such a great feeling. The action, the adrenalin was still there. Although Indy's a little bit old, couldn't wait for his next adventure.

How about you? What's your top five movies of 2008 ? Feel free to comment.

Batman's Stealth Launch Batmobile

If you are looking for an awesome Batmobile, I suggest that you take a look at this Batmobile toy from Mattel.

With the Stealth Launch Batmobile Vehicle, one touch of a button reveals twin projectile missiles, and becomes a launcher for hours of battle-play fun. Includes two vehicles and one in-scale dedicated 5" Batman figure.

It's a Batmobile outside, but you can also launch the Batcycle which exactly looks like a scene from the movie The Dark Knight. The Batcycle launching from the Batmobile.

Sure is a collector's item for Batman fanatics.

Watch The Dark Knight

I've just seen the movie The Dark Knight and I am very impressed of how the film was made. It was full of action and suspense.

Director Christopher Nolan has done a wonderful job of bringing back Batman back to the big screen once again.

Gotham City has a new villain and he's wreaking havoc and creating chaos and that you probably know is The Joker played by the late Heath Ledger. Ledger's acting here is way above exceptional, gives me a chill whenever he appears on the screen. Ledger's Joker gives a new meaning to villain compared to Jack Nicholson's Joker. Ledger's Joker is crazier and really is a menace. Bad thing though,no flashback scene were shown as to where The Joker originated from. Still the performance could give Ledger a nod for Best Supporting Actor.

As for Harvey Dent, also known as the White Knight, He brings balance to the chaotic city of Gotham. The Joker managed to create the bad side in him, thus creating Two Face. The make of Two Face was very impressive, you can see that his eye are moving in the same way with his eye for the normal side of his face.

Batman's new vehicle was outstanding, emerging from the Bat Mobile. The BatCycle or whatever they call it, is a collector item for Batman fanatic.

I won't say anymore, so I'll keep it up as a surprise for you to find out.The Dark Knight is one intelligent film and one of the best summer movie this year.Kudos also to the supporting role of Michael Caine,Gary Oldman,Morgan Freeman and Maggie Glyenhaal.

So watch it now and be entertained.

Guillermo Del Toro for The Hobbit

The Hobbit is finally confirmed to be filmed. Although this time Peter Jackson( the genius behind the Lord of the Rings Trilogy) won't be manning the direction for this film adaptation.

Instead Guillermo del Toro ( Hellboy and Pan's Labyrinth) will direct the prequel for the Lord of the Rings saga.

They are going to make it into a two movie, which I think is not a good idea. The Hobbit is just too short and I dont think you need to prolong it.Maybe the producers are thinking about more of their profits for this highly anticipated film.

Although he is a great visual director, expect that the visuals of the Hobbit changes from that of The Lord of the Rings. When a film series changes a director, the series transform into a new world is far from different from the one that we are used to. Example of this, the one that happens to Harry Potter, the first two were magical. But when Chris Columbus begged off for th third, the magic was gone.

Another one is the Batman series, Tim Burton's world is very different from Joel Schumacher that's why the last two suffered badly. Good thing they revived it with Christopher Nolan, who also directs the sequel The Dark Knight.

Thanks to Steven Spielberg, he still handles the latest Indiana Jones that is why it is one of the highly anticipated movie this summer.

Let's just wait what will happen to the Hobbit. Hope it would be a good one.

Heath's sudden Death

Life is just too fast and too short, you see I was just talking about the new Batman movie last month and I still showed you its latest photo. Batman side by side with The Joker, played by now departed Heath Ledger.

The Dark Knight was one of my anticipated movies this year alongside Iron Man and the latest Indiana Jones. I was shocked at the news that Heath Ledger passed away last Tuesday Night. His sudden death somehow put the movie world in sorrow. He was a great and versatile actor. From his breakthrough performance as Mel Gibson’s son in The Patriot, I knew that this young actor would make it big and what impact he had made with his acting debut, grabbing most of the lead role in his subsequent movies.

Of course most people would remember him as the other half of gay cowboy couple in Brokeback Mountain. His sterling performance in the controversial film, earned him an Academy Award nomination.

Maybe it has something to do with his name, Heath’s name rhymes with Death, or its just coincidental. Sounds mysterious ?

In case you didn’t know he also starred in A Knight’s Tale, The Four Feathers, The Brothers Grimm with Matt Damon. Playing the Joker in the latest Batman sequel seems to be his biggest break and also his last great performance. This young Australian Actor will surely be missed in the movie world. May he rest in peace.

New photos for The Dark Knight

So the Dark Knight will return to the big screen next year, this time around he is pitted against the Joker in the revised Batman series. Playing the Joker is Australian actor Heath Ledger while Christian Bale reprises his role in The Batman movie.

For now, I can only show you the latest pictures of Batman and Joker.

Compare to the last two Batman films by Joel Schumacher, which somehow the series deteriorates, The new Batman movie by Christopher Nolan is an instant classic. It somehow creates additional interest to the Dark Knight adventures. So I must say the second movie will also be good and exciting.
