The Social Network is my bet for this year's Best Picture.

For all those who have seen The Social Network, we can all say that this is probably the      Best Picture of 2010.

It revolves around how Facebook was created, how Mark Zuckerberg and Company went through all the trials in creating probably the most influential social website in the whole world.

Just don't know yet if Jesse Eisenberg will bag a nomination for his performance.But I am very sure Director David Fincher will bag the Best Director Trophy and the film will win Best Picture in the OSCAR.

Enjoy Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1

Among the Harry Potter films, this is probably where I laugh the most. Rupert Grint and his character Ron Weasley is always the comic in this movie. This movie has it all Romance, Action, Adventure and Comedy.

The stars are all grown ups, but still keeps their magical side. Besides the first two films, this one is close to the book,Too bad though there is a Part Two. Anyway Part Two won't be too long, it will only be months away. Producers of this movie are very wise indeed, cutting the last book into two parts.

If you haven't seen it yet, Go watch it on the Big Screen and experience the magic once more of Harry Potter's world.

Who's your bet to win the FIBA World Basketball Championship?

Well my bet is Spain.

Pau Gasol may not play, but there is another Gasol from Spain's roster and that is Marc Gasol. Plus they also got a lot of talented guys. Ricky Rubio will also be playing, so that will be speed plus brawn plus outside sniping for the Spaniards.

Another great team is Argentina, too bad Manu Ginobili is not playing. But they still do have a lot of great players.Luis Scola is one.

Who would not include USA in the Top 3, they've got a team made up of NBA stars led by Kevin Durant and Derrick Rose.

I think the games will be physical and highly entertaining, Country's pride is at stake.

Looks like the Cleveland Cavaliers franchise value has gone down, after LeBron James followed and joined Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade at the Miami Heat.

Looks like the second coming of the Big Three heh, looks good to watch these three stars in one team, but it does not guarantee a championship ring.

It seems that Cleveland fans will hate James, they've supported him ever since he began in NBA.

Let's just wait if the new Big Three live up to their expectation.

Catch Wolverine's Beginnings

I was supposed to post this last week, but if you still have time try to catch the movie X-Men Origins : Wolverine.

The movie may be a little bit short and doesn't have too much highlight, but it is still worth your money.

The movie does justice to Wolverine's origins. I never knew too much about Wolverine's Beginnings, since I rarely read comic books because they are quite too expensive nowadays. Just knew him from the X-Men cartoons.

I just learned from this movie that Wolverine and Sabretooth are brothers. Sabretooth easily beats Wolverine and broke his claws in one of their fight. Since then Wolverine agree with his former Team Leader, Stryker, to undergo a scientific experiment. This is where he gets his adamantium claws.

Also one of the thing why I like this movie is because of my favorite X-Men made his first live appearance, Gambit. Bad thing though, he only have few scenes. Meanwhile Deadpool is a bad ass here. I won't tell you how Wolverine beat him, just go and see it.

So If I were you, I'll head to the theaters now instead of watching the version which spread across the web, I heard that it was still incomplete and the effects are not yet done.

My only question now is? Where is Stan Lee ? Never saw him on this one. Can anyone tell me, what's up with him.

PC Express is a BIG DISASTER

Just bought a LCD Monitor last December from PC Express, mainly because my monitor bugged down, I choose that store because of their price.

But after two days, I've noticed that the monitor has a watery wave so I brought it back to them,thinking that they will replace it, since the product has a seven day return policy. But their technician insist that it just needs some adjustment on its configuration.

Okay, I've accepted the fact that it needs to configured. But Lo and Behold a horizontal line appears on the monitor after just two weeks. So I brought it back to them once again, and said that it won't be replace anymore and that it needs to repaired.

What pisses me off is that they told me, that it would be pulled out immediately but after some phone calls, they told me it was only pulled out after four days since the date they promised it will be reurned to its distributor. Looks like some bullshit is happening around here.

If I were you, I wont buy at PC Express anymore. Why ? Because their customer service sucks and their product warranty stinks. Up until now, It will almost be one month and yet the LCD Monitor has not yet been repaired and no follow ups were answered.

If you're looking for some PC or its spare parts, Just don't buy at PC Express anymore. Try Silicon Valley or TCA, their customer service is much better.

Remember, If you don't want to be pissed off, Avoid Buying at PC Express. Or don't be blinded by it's cheap price, because their products seems to be factory defects and just Class B products.

My Top Five Movies of 2008

5. ) Quantum of Solace- Daniel Craig's second outing as James Bond continues where Casino Royale left off. It's nice to see Bond once again in a high octane non stop Action. Although James Bond doesn't have any gadget here, still the movie delivers and it didn't failed to impress moviegoers and my self..

4.) Kung Fu Panda- Basically this movie is my kid's choice for this year. Po and Company gave a hilarious performance. Could give Shrek a run for his money.

3.) Iron Man – Summer's first blockbuster hit and the movie that revitalizes Robert Downey's career. This comic book hero turn to movie can be lined up alongside Batman and Spiderman, great cast and script, nice effects,pace and action.

2.) The Dark Knight - Batman does it again, almost becoming the highest grossing movie of all time. The Dark Knight broke almost every box office records everywhere. Also Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker somehow got others curious to watch this movie. But it's definitely one of the Best Batman movie. I can also consider it as one of the best sequel, better than Batman Begins.

1.) Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull- I admit that I am BIG Indiana Jones, seeing the daredevil archaeologist in the big screen after nineteen years was such a great feeling. The action, the adrenalin was still there. Although Indy's a little bit old, couldn't wait for his next adventure.

PacMan stops Golden Boy

I think it's time for the Golden Boy Oscar De la Hoya to hung up his boxing gloves and retire, his prime was way too long over. No offense to the Golden Boy but I think he should retire.

The World freezes in the Philippines whenever Manny Pacquiao have a fight and today was no exemption. There were no any vehicle on the road. Almost all the Filipino people are glued to the boob tube.

Manny was the underdog in this fight called the Dream Match, but he prove that David can once overcame the power of a Goliath in De La Hoya. Manny was simply dominant in the entire fight and I thought that he won all the round. Manny was awesome from the start and Oscar was already sluggish.

Good thing Oscar decided to stop the fight or else he would have been knocked down by Manny.

I guess Ricky Hatton is next for Pacquiao. Pacquiao vs. Hatton, looks like another great fight. But maybe after his fight he should also consider retiring. He should retire as a Champ, besides he already has a lot of money.

What's wrong with Franz ?

It looks like that the De La Salle University Green Archers coach Franz Pumaren don't know how to accept defeat.

The Ateneo Blue Eagles just crushed the Green Archers 62-51 in Game 2 of the UAAP Finals to capture the crown.

Now I think that he is sour graping and cannot accept that he had been defeated by his former teammate and coach, Norman Black.

He's saying that it was due to bad officiating that's why they lost in the Finals, well then, he should think again.

Man for Man, the Green Archers are simply no match against the Blue Eagles.

They don't have someone who can stop Rabeh Al Husaini. Before the Game 2 started, he's saying that the Archers are capable of coming back and now that they lost he's blaming it on the officiating.

Well in case he forgot, the reason why the Archers are in the Finals is due to bad officiating, remember the knockout game for the twice to beat advantage, where the Green Archers narrowly escaped the FEU Tamaraws 62-59.

That game was so bad for the Tamaraws, all the referees call were in favor of the Green Archers.

Now he should be just thankful for the Bad officiating, if it wasn't for that, the Green Archers should have been eliminated.

The Force Unleashed is a great game with great graphics and a wonderful story!

You play as Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice throughout the whole game and you eventually travel down the road of redemption.

There are wonderful characters including Starkiller's love life and pilot Juno Eclipse. It includes Vader, The Emperor, Bail and Leia Organa, Shaak Tii. It includes a good deal of new Characters, Maris Brood, General Rahm Kota, and a possessed gungan named Kleef.

The story plot is great with a bunch of twists and turns that I wasn't expecting. The graphics are wonderful and the free play modes are even better.

For the PSP you get what is called Historic Missions which is where you can play parts of the original Saga with your force powers. You also get Duel Made and Order 66. There are many other cool things to be discovered including lightsaber Customization and costume customization.

The Force Unleashed is truly the gap between Revenge of the Sith and a New Hope.

This is the greatest Star Wars Game ever.

If I were you, I'm gonna get this game right away.

Jollibee surprised me !!!

Last Sunday, my brother and his son went to our house.They just came from Jollibee and to my surprise my nephew got a Voltron toy from Jolibee's Kids Meal.

I just love Voltron way back in the 80's when I was still a kid. All those Robot Lions transforming to become a mighty Robot.

All the kids who grew up in the 80's will sure remember Voltron and I think that its about time the new generation get to know Voltron aside from the Transformers.

So my son and I hurriedly goes to Jollibee, but to my dismay, the Black Lion is no longer available. Now that's a big problem. How can I build Voltron without the main body.

And so the quest begins for the Black Lion, I guess I have to visit every Jollibee store just to form Voltron. How about you ? You got all the Lions already ? Lucky you.

This toy from Jollibee is a must have for every toy collector out there.

Memphis Grizzlies Triple Tower

Remember the Spurs Twin Tower of David Robinson and Tim Duncan ?

Well then, expect that Memphis Grizzlies to match or surpass the Twin Tower combination this season with the arrival of two seven footer in the person of Marc Gasol and Iranian Hamed Haddadi.

We all know that the younger brother is also a towering Guy, although he seems to be more stronger and wide bodied compared to Pau.

If you've seen the Olympics, you probably see the power of Marc Gasol. Flexing his muscle way inside the paint is a tough task but Marc seems not bothered at all whoever was in front of him, whether it be Dwight Howard or Chris Bosh.

Another Big Guy who was quite impressive in the Olympics was Iranian Hamed Haddadi.

The 7-foot-2, 254-pound Haddadi led all Olympians in Beijing in rebounding (11.2) and blocks (2.6) while averaging 16.6 points in five games for Iran, which did not advance to the medal round. Haddadi, who was not selected in the 2004 NBA Draft, drew the interest of several NBA teams when the Iranian team competed against NBA teams this summer in Utah.

The Iranian team tops the Asian Qualifying because of this Guy.

Now if Darko Milicic won't be traded to other team, they'll be having a Triple Tower combination.
But there is a downside here, if they use all the three players at the same time, they;ll be slower, which is why I think Milicic will be traded.

There are rumors that he'll be traded to the New York Knicks.

Expect the Grizzlies to barge in the playoff this coming season.

Head for adventure with Lego Indiana Jones

Lego Indiana Jones is a very enjoyable game.... the best lego game so far in my opinion. the game had a great tone to it ....kept me entertained and made the overall feel of the game good. Also the puzzles and difficulty level were great considering the wide range of gamers that got it ..

I easily give this game a 9 ....and i would greatly recommend this game to anyone without a doubt...
though this game has a few flaws like character communication and actions that can get a little aggravating at times ..its not enough to make me not want to play it ..if anything it makes me play more to beat the challenge.

Plus the game keeps you entertained by offering funny videos and obstacles .I think everyone with a psp should get this game ...and those who got this game ...along with me is now looking forward to the lego batman.

My kid liked it, so probably your kid will also like it. It's about time you introduce your kid to the daredevil archaeologist.

Get one now and enjoy Indy's adventure.

UAAP's Final Four

This year's UAAP cast of the Final Four includes league leading Ateneo De Manila University,defending champion De La Salle University, perennial contender Far Eastern University and making it for the seventh straight year the UE Red Warriors.

The first and fourth place have been secured by Ateneo and UE respectively, with Ateneo having the twice to beat advantage. I think Ateneo will easily make it to the championship round, with big man Al Hussaini dominating the game. Chris Tiu is in his final year,expect him to carry his team all the way to the Finals.

The second and third place have not yet been decided, with La Salle and FEU both toting a 10-3 record.

Both team have still one game left in the elimination, with La Salle facing Ateneo and FEU against UE.

If both La Salle and FEU wins, these two teams will play in a knock out game for that prestigious twice to beat advantage. It will be some sort of best of three for both squads.

Mac Baracael is back in the FEU roster after being shot by still unknown assailant, FEU's brotherhood has somehow carry the team to where it is now standing.

Final Four action kicks off September 14.

It was a sorry season for the UST Tigers, although boasting a strong lineup,they failed to make it this year. Better luck next time.

The Force is with Soul Calibur IV

The long awaited continuation of the Soul Calibur series finally arrives on next-gen consoles, and although it's definitely no classic, it improves on the core gameplay & adds a functional multiplayer mode.

In Soul Calibur IV you can play as 26 original characters, including the 2 new additions Hilde and Algol, an additional 5 new 'bonus' characters, which are designed by guest artists, and 2 Star Wars guest characters. All of the characters are quite different from one another, ranging from a dual claw wielding contortionist to a titanic axe wielding golem. The exceptions are the 5 bonus characters, all of whom are simply clones of other characters - which is quite disappointing.

For the most part, all of the characters feel rather balanced. No character has exactly a massive advantage over another, but a few characters are better at dealing with anyone, a few characters may have a SLIGHT struggle against certain opponents.

The exclusive Star Wars characters are extremely different from one another. The PS3 version gets to use Darth Vader while the XBOX 360 will be able to use Yoda. Out of the two characters, Vader definitely feels more in place. While Yoda has quite an original moveset, he is terribly unbalanced... Other characters can't hit Yoda with high attacks or throw him due to his small size, these attacks will simply pass over his head leaving you wide open to an attack. Both versions will have access to 'Starkiller', the secret apprentice from the upcoming game Star Wars : The Force Unleashed. Although he may feel slightly overpowered when you are fighting the AI playing as him, in the hands of another player this is no longer evident.

Apart from the Star Wars characters (which may be downloadable content in the near future for the opposite system), the console's versions don't really feel any different from one another. The visuals are are practically exactly the same. The only other difference is the optional install on the PS3 version, which may improve loading times somewhat, however, this feature will be available on the XBOX 360 version too, shortly.

The game looks amazing, in my opinion it is one of the best looking fighters ever. All the 13 stages look beautiful, the characters are impressively high detailed and the animation is smooth and fluid.

The actual gameplay feels rather unchanged compared to previous installments. The pace isn't as fast as Soul Calibur III, but isn't as slow as Soul Calibur II. It feels just about right in terms of speed. Compared to other fighters Soul Calibur is more of a 'pick up and play' type of game, you don't need to spend hours on end remembering long, 10 hit combos. Rather than spending time learning how to attack, you need to choose when to attack, making this a more skill-based fighter rather than memorizing combos.

Alot of the changes made to the gameplay are welcome additions, the critical finish system will now no longer reward players who block constantly ('turtling') which makes the game more offensive.

Unfortunately, the game hardly has any content with most unlockables just being bought by gold which requires 'farming'. Story mode is now only 5 stages long, although the stages including the AMB (Active Matching Battle) system, which basically lets you or the AI switch between characters during battle. The addition of this feature in single player makes you wonder why it wasn't included in VS modes or Multiplayer, the only option being a 1 vs 1 match.

The main mode, Tower Of Lost Souls, is honestly not very fun. You can choose to ascend the tower, where you will have to play through many stages where the opponents have different abilities, there are 60 floors in total and around the 40th floor thing start to get a little cheap. The AI will guard impact and counter you almost constantly, which sometimes mean you have to resort to cheap tactics to beat the AI. It makes the Tower Of Lost Souls just one extremely drawn out mode. The descend option is a little better, it's basically survival mode in which you have to slaughter foe after foe to see how far you can get down, when you die you will be taken all the way back to the top.

One of the best features of Soul Calibur IV is definitely the character creation. Create A Soul mode offers many options, unfortunately the created character movesets have all been removed and you are limited to choosing a moveset from the main cast. This is made up for by the large range of equipment, all offering different abilities for your character. You can then choose from a number of skills such as invisibility or auto grapple break, which are all surprisingly well implemented, and take your character online via the Special VS mode (where stats are in play). Or, if you don't care much for stats you can take them on Standard VS mode, where you wont have to worry about the disadvantages of your equipment, and can shape the appearance into anything you want. You can also fully edit the original cast, minus a few characters, so if you want to fully cloth Ivy, you can. Or you can make it so that she is wearing less clothes, which I thought was practically impossible.

Overall Soul Calibur IV is a fun, engaging experience and one of the most memorable fighters in recent years. Anyone can pick up and play this and have some great fun with it, but it's pretty stripped down in terms of ingame content and gamemodes, so if you don't have many friends who like playing fighters or don't want to head online, I wouldn't recommend this game for solely the single player content.

Austin Powers heads to Blu Ray Disc

The Austin Powers trilogy is coming to Blu-ray as a box set, although individual releases haven't been announced as yet.

All three films will make the upgrade to 1080p with a batch of extras. International Man of Mystery will come with an audio commentary, both alternate endings, deleted scenes, a trailer and an animated sequence. The Spy Who Shagged Me will include a commentary, the Comedy Central mocumentary, a featurette, deleted scenes, trailers, and music videos. Goldmember will carry a commentary, a trivia track, featurettes, deleted scenes, an outtake montage and four more music videos.

Many might not remember, but Austin Powers was the first breakaway DVD top seller back in the early days of the format and was one of the first titles to help bring people to the new format (before The Matrix broke all the rules). The three pack will arrive on December 2nd.
